> You are using the 3 LTD version as a plug-in, correct?

No, read his original post in which kentwolf said:

I use Graffiti 3.0 (full version) and it is generally agreed that the interface stinks. It's awful.

The LTD version is a stand alone only.

The interface isn't so bad. It's kind of like AfterFX. The problem I found with the LTD version of Graffiti is they crippled some key areas. It has the appearance of doing so much, and you can go pretty far with it, but then you try to zoom on the text and it you hit a brick wall. It pixelates. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that is one of the crippled features)

I guess the point is to make you want the full version and you can definitely still do plenty with it, but cripple ware really bugs me. I'm not motivated to learn something that is designed to leave me wanting something more. I would have rather had a lower end application that was fully featured personally but who knows... I'll be glad to have it when I need character level properties like you mentioned.

And yes there are plenty of titling options now. I have no excuse not to get what I need done.

There are a lot of crippling features but this isn’t one of them. To get rid of the pixilated text go to the Preview menu and set Quality to High. Then set Preview->Resolution->Full. I think the pixelation is primarily from the resolution being at half by default but this should fix it.

You can make believe they gave you the full version Title Deko instead because the LTD version of Graffiti can do at least as much as the full version of Title Deko. ;-) I'm getting use to it and its pretty good.

Okay, I'll try to get over my hangups about cripple ware ;D

But the pixelation is still there even at full res. It's just less obvious. Even in half resolution you can see that the pixelation increases as the z position moves toward the camera. That shouldn't happen with vectors unless it isn't really scaling the text up. I think it is related to one of the crippled features:

"Grafiti LTD does not allow you to scale objects over 100%."

But there are a lot of parameters... I could be missing one I suppose. No big deal anyway. At least there are bezier handles on the key frames! :D

I agree that the quality is not as good as it should be, even at full/high everything, the output is not as crisp as it is out of TitleDeko (very recent version).

If I create a movie, the jagged edges are gone, but I have found nothing to make the stil images as good as I would like them to be - but they are pretty close.

If I make the titles bigger than I wanted them to be, and then shrink them through Vegas track-motion, it is less prominent.

Good idea Chris. I hadn't thought of just exporting higher res movies... cool!

Amen to Johnmeyers post. I feel that the titling void is quite large in Vegas. I think this thread is good in that it lets Sony see what us users want the future programming efforts to be.

SonyEPM, curious, I'm using Flash MX (not the 2004 one), how can I export titles for use in Vegas 4? I've tried both mov and avi w/alpha but they don't have alpha, eg solid backgrounds... any tips on how to export from Flash MX (or will the latest swish etc do it? for alpha-channeled titles?

mind posting a .fla and let me know export settings you're using? I'd really like to use flash titles in vegas... thanks!
