Does Vegas work with any external preview cards?

marc-s wrote on 12/5/2017, 5:09 PM

I recently added an internal Blackmagic Design Decklink Card 4K to my workstation. It appears in the device choices under the "preview device" tab but says unavailable when I choose it. Didn't Vegas used to work with Blackmagic cards?

Thanks, Marc

Both Vegas Pro 14 and 15 work here fine with Blackmagic Decklink Cards - both with the 6G and the 12G Card. Make sure that you have the latest Blackmagic Driver installed.

Interesting thanks. I'm using the "DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K" with the latest drivers. Card works great in Resolve but cant get Vegas to use it. Perhaps that card in incompatible.

This is how is shows up in Vegas:

I s there a chance that another program is accessing it, thus not allowing Vegas to use it?

So maybe Resolve is holding onto it?

BM Decklink Mini Monitor is not supported, for some reason, BM Intensity Pro works as do the higher end decklink cards, just the mini monitor AFAICT.

Those who know that are not allowed to tell you, and those who tell you something do not know. ;)

We will have to wait for the upcoming updates.
