Error initializing audio stream decompression - Frameserver avi

Petermgr wrote on 2/23/2018, 9:56 AM

Hi all,

Up until today, I have had no issues rendering my Vegas Pro 15 avi through Frameserver and then running a script via MeGui. However, this morning I rendered the same video to avi, and when trying to run the MeGui avs file, I get the following error:

"Error initializing audio stream decompression: The requested conversion is not possible. Check to make sure you have the required codec. (C:\1-Vegas tools\avs 07.avs, line 2)"

Line 2 btw, is: AviSource("C:\1-Vegas tools\Video\fs.avi")

The only thing I can think of that has taken place, is that yesterday Windows 10 may have applied an update. Not sure since I had a power loss and then at startup it appears an update was being applied.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Peter

"... I had a power loss..."

[SWAG]

Is the C:\1-Vegas tools\Video\fs.avi file present even when Vegas is not running?

No, it's not there when Vegas is not running. Thanks Swag.

Try checking (or unchecking) the box that says "Write audio as PCM samples in signpost AVI" on the Frameserver setup window.

If that fails and you have time and energy for experimentation, have a play with the new 64-bit version of Frameserver at https://github.com/tmp170422/frame-server which you should be able to use with 64-bit AviSynth+ and 64-bit Megui.

Thanks Nick,

I tried the "Write audio as PCM samples in signpost AVI" earlier, but it didn't work. However, I updated my Vegas Pro 15 to the latest build just after I posted here. Now I tried the "Write audio as PCM samples in signpost AVI" and MeGUI works. Tested again without "Write audio as PCM . . ." and still get an error. So will complete my project with "Write audio as PCM samples in signpost AVI". However, in doing so, will audio be impacted? The final render is for uploading to my Vimeo site.

As for the 64-bit Frameserver, I had tested that some time ago, but ran into various errors, so returned to the 32-bit version.

Odd that all was working fine until the other day . . . Still need to figure out what went missing to have caused the problem. Perhaps download/update codecs (if I can figure out which ones to get).

Does anyone know if the 64 bit Frameserver will still pass only 44.1K audio, or will it pass 48K if it finds it?

Here's the Mediainfo report for the debugmode frameserver signpost file from Vegas 14.

I don't think so.

Unfortunately I think it's still limited to 44.1kHz.
