I've not long had Sony Vegas Pro 14 (less than a week), and everything appeared to be working fine; I was able to upload MP4 files with no issue.
However, even more recently I'm now greeted with the infamous error message: 'error occurred while opening codec' etc. What's going on? I've been trying to find a solution myself, some people suggest that I have conflicting codecs that are messing with the software, and some people suggest downloading additional codecs. I don't have any additional codecs that I'm aware of, and I haven't downloaded any just yet (I'm always skeptical of someone on YouTube telling me to go to *this* site to download *this* piece of software).
What's even stranger is I have MP4 files that I CAN upload onto my timeline (also, just to be clear.. ALL files appear in the explorer tab, I'm just unable to drag them over to the preview window and my timeline). All files are in the corresponding locations so it's not like Sony Vegas is having a hard time finding them, either.
I've also tried converting the MP4s to AVIs but to no avail.
I'm using Windows 10, 64-bit. While writing this I'm now wondering could a lack of GPU have anything to do with this? My computer doesn't have one just yet, but I'm working on it.
Thanks in advance for the help!
