I tried Picture in Picture in the new video effect Insert Adjustment Event, but this doesn't seem to work! See attached snapshot. Shouldn't the outside part be transparent or cyan in this example? Or did I misunderstand?
All the Fx that move pixels around have this issue (crop, cookie cutter, etc.) It seems intentional but unfortunate and hopefully will be changed to work like the adjustment tracks.
It still works on the old method. The same goes for "Adjustment track", I don't really see what this gives me more. On the other hand, there are a lot of easy to make interesting improvements in Vegas Pro that would help me tremendously such as : Lock an entire Track, Copy an entire Track, Different colours of markers, Restart to Normal Speed at Cursor, Add Empty Event Icon, and so much more that I am not going to re-list.
I also tried with another picture-in-picture plugin, not from Vegas itself, but the similar called "picture in picture" plugin from newblue FX, and it has the same issue...
@bitman@Amivideotek@m3lquixd I saw a demonstration a few days ago. Where the demo is I don't remember, maybe in Help. You do a pic-in-pic like you have in past. You put the pic-in-pic fx on the video, not the adjustment event. The Adjustment Event then has some color effect. That color effect then gets applied to both video tracks, so the pic and the pic-in pic both have the same color effect.
Gentlemen, This Adjustment Event issue may have been intentional from the start, however this duplication instead of transparency shortcoming will eventually be ironed out.
You need to Parent/Child the Adjustment event otherwise it is affecting all the tracks below.
@Former user Yes, the definition of adjustment layer is to affect all the tracks below, whether in Adobe or Hitfilm or other NLEs. The current Vegas adjustment event is absolutely correct.
Vegas provides Parent/Child that allows users to limit the number of tracks affected. This is the Next Level compared with other NLEs.
