Every time I open vegas i'm prompted to enter my serial number

So this problem just started happening after I updated my windows 10 last week. I'm not sure if this is the cause. Initially vegas 15 would give me an error code saying that my software had no serial number. I eventually uninstalled and reinstalled vegas because I couldn't find info online. Now, sony vegas lets me login BUT i have to input my serial number every time! How do i resolve this issue? I appreciate any help offered thank you!

You are not alone, V15 and V14 both give errorcode -59 and do not even allow me to enter a serial. A restore of the latest system image attempted, no difference. My impression is that it is an error on the authorisation server. A full day wasted, no work done. Support case opened, no answer yet. Question asked in FB vegas editors group, no follow ups yet.

Hey just FYI, It seems I fixed my issue. I uninstalled Vegas again. However, I also uninstalled another Magix related program "connect" Then I was experiencing a bunch of other problems on my PC non-vegas related. So, I bought driver booster to update all my drivers cuz all this was driving me nuts. Anyway, so far, vegas has been opening up perfect. So, not sure if it was driver booster or uninstalling vegas and the "connect" program.

Connect seems to be the crash report sender, I wonder if it also handles registration confirmation, renaming the folder to prevent it starting up does not seem to influence the issue I experience. Up to now my choice has been to avoid a lot of tinkering so as to have a clean problem for Magix to address, I'll practice waiting ....
