Explorer window is empty- how to show drives and folders?

The_Wallace wrote on 7/3/2020, 10:24 PM

I've used Vegas for several years and just installed a fresh copy Movie Studio 17 tonight in Windows 10/64 . I was moving through the menus checking things out and x'd out Explorer. So I went back into View/Windows/Explorer and re-enabled it but the Explorer windows is blank...no drives or folders show (see attachment). No view or setting I've tried will fix it. Anyone know what could cause a blank Explorer?

I can reproduce what you are seeing if Explorer is showing an empty folder. Have you tried going up a level?

When I go up a level nothing happens. It’s weird behavior. I’m wondering if there’s a default path somewhere that tells Vegas what to point to for the explorer window.

Which version are you using, because as you wrote "Movie Studio 17" that one has no explorer like the other plain versions I have.
If you use the Platinum version my advice is to do a full reset of the program: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/

Mine is the Platinum 17 version. Thanks for the tip....the reset worked and restored the Explorer and desktop...all ok now. A good tool to remember.

@The_Wallace A good tip to write down as well as remember. If your memory's like mine, the next time you want the tip, you'll have forgotten it.

I have a problem with some of the windows but always with the Explorer Window, when I click Save. The window goes from its regular look to an icon only. Example had been uploaded I am able to return back to the original window by clicking the box next to the word Explorer and then clicking it again. I think this is a problem.

@randy-flaum You have a Project Notes tab? Are you using Vegas Pro? If so suggest you start a new thread in the Pro section where it will probably get more attention.
