Tried Vegas Pro 9, 10, and 11 (all 64 bit) and the Save As option for AAF is not available on a fresh installation. I never use it, so I'm unaware of any switches that must be set.

VegasPro 8 on Windows XP has the option.

You are not imagining things. AAF is there in 594 (32) but not 595 !

I've logged the bug to SCS

I am on 10e (32bit) and the 'save as' aaf option is there.

Thanks Geoff and everybody else. Now my next question is: can have 32 bit and 64 bit versions installed at the same time on my computer?

There is no AAF export in the 64 bit versions. Not a bug. Available for 32 bit only.

Yes (short and simple) you can have 64 and 32 bit versions on same machine.

This can be confusing as your File Type Association in Windows will open the last installed version of Vegas when you double-click on a .veg file.
Geoff_Wood wrote on 4/18/2012, 5:52 PM
Of course you can load the 64-generated VEG into 32 and then eSave As AAF, as 32 and 64 versions co-exist quite happily.

The question must remain, "Why" .....

Somebody with AE wants to see if he can import my .veg files if they are in AAF format.

Would you settle for EDL?
This script allows you to import into Adobe After Effects a Sony Vegas project saved as “EDL Text File.”

I meant "Why does 64 not export AAF ?" .

As I understand it, the AAF export DLL used by Vegas is provided by the AAF Association as open source software, rather than being something written by SCS. And the AAF Association has only ever made it available as a 32-bit DLL.
