Fastest way to swap proxy with raw version

yassera-s wrote on 12/7/2020, 8:46 AM

I selected all video files in Project Media tap, right clicked the mouse and selected the Swap command but it doesn't work unless I specify the exact path for each clip used in my timeline. Is there a faster and smarter way to swap the files? Note that I created the proxies manually and my raw files are located in different subfolders.

@Illusion

Yes Norton Antivirus is always running since forever and It never affect the operation of vegas or any other software in my pc.

Just try disabling it for a moment and test again whatever is not working on your system. You can always pull the network plug or turn-off wi-fi if you are afraid.

@Illusion my friend I am quadrillion percent sure this has nothing to do with it.

I had so many problems with Norton AV that I don't believe you.

@Illusion Yes I am fully aware of the kind or problems that any antivirus could cause but for sure not this one my friend. It is like if telling me maybe the air in my office is related to this problem 😂

@Illusion don't take it personally please, I don't waste my time in any test where I already know the outcome without any doubt. It is like you are telling me if I know my name! I am always open to test things that I am not sure about it.

yassera-s wrote on 12/7/2020, 2:35 PM

@Illusion Just for your sake and because you are doubting my knowledge, I test it with NAV turned off and as I already know in advance, it did not do anything to fix the problem. Please believe me when I say that I am quadrillion percent sure this has nothing to do with it and always open to new ideas that make sense.

UPDATE: I uninstalled V18 completely (Removing all changes and leftovers with Revo Uninstaller Pro) and reinstalled it and it did not make a difference. I also created new Windows user account and tried installing Vegas again from the new account and it did not help either. I am now installing Vegas 18 on my laptop and trying one last time from my laptop!

if it doesn't work, then I am trashing this useless crappy software and replacing it with reliable and dependable one that does not let me down when working with real projects. I tried before editing with Media Composer and Resolve but truly I did not enjoy using them especially Avid. I really love the way Vegas work for editing but the latest versions are not stable and dependable enough and if I can not trust it and depend on it to finish my projects, then I have to force myself to jump the ship

You always manage to compromise people who unselfishly want to help you in their valuable free time.
You shouldn't be surprised if they finally give up and turn to another worthwhile occupation.
Remember that other software will not be as flawless as you are.

@walter-i. so when I am totally sure about idea that is not related to problem and telling the person about it is compromising him? interesting!! and I never even indicated in anyway that I am flawless so try using different word

UPDATE 2: after installing Vegas v18 on my laptop the swap command worked so problem is related to Vegas on my desktop. Anyway thank to @Illusion who truly tried to help and no thanks to @walter-i. who tried to create a problem from nothing
