I actually just tried this for a longer video that I wanted to upload to Youtube, but I aborted once I realized it's an .mxf file. Unless Youtube has changed their codecs, I've always had mxf files blocked from uploads. I noticed the XAVC S Long format is .mp4, but it's only 16 bit audio, so why bother?

Another little experiment: five version of the same video, quicktime with 24/48 pcm, mkv with 16/48 pcm, mp4 with 512Mb AAC, AVI with 24/96 pcm and MXF with 24/48 pcm. Which one plays better?

Recording made with Schoeps and Milab microphones, RME electronics.
