File Drop works in V20 Edit?

misohoza wrote on 8/13/2022, 12:08 PM

I wanted to try the cloud features so I got the Vegas Edit 365.

The mobile uploads and stock footage works but I am having trouble with the file drop. I created a new file drop and sent the invitation to myself just to test it. Whatever I do I cannot upload anything. It says cloud storage limit exceeded.

Could anyone check if file drop works with Edit version?

I also have Vegas 19 Post (perpetual) installed on the same system. Strangely I can now use the cloud features here too, but with Vegas Edit limitation. But the cloud storage limit shows 100 GB.

Do you have more than 100GB worth of mobile uploads already in cloud storage, or is the file you are uploading larger than 100GB (or the amount of free space you do have)?

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

There is nothing in cloud yet. The file I was trying to upload was about 60MB.

But shouldn't Vegas Edit have only 20GB of cloud storage? Maybe it is confused with my perpetual Vegas 19 Post license. It looks like the Vegas Hub is linked in both. If I log out in Vegas 19 it logs me out in Vegas 20 too.

It shows you have 100gb free... so no, that isn't the case. What browser are you using to upload? Maybe try a different one?

Hi @fr0sty

I tried to upload using Edge and Chrome. Same results.

That 100 GB thing... Do you know what cloud services is Vegas using? I think that happened after I installed the Vegas Hub app for android and logged in on Samsung device. But I may be completely wrong about this.

I filed a support request ticket anyway.

Good idea, this sounds like an internal issue beyond the reach of us outsiders, so filing a support ticket is probably the best way to get this sorted. Not 100% sure of what system they are using, unfortunately.

@fr0sty

Do you have any experience with the support? Does it take a long time?

They initially responded and asked for system info, made me try the windows admin account and that's about it. No real solution and they are silent for the last two weeks.

I have a related issue now. VP20 360. I can create a file drop, but when I add a participant with name, email etc and press Send invitation the invitation is not sent. The three dots keep turning as if something is under way, but even after an hour no invitations have been sent.

My internet connection is fine and everything else on the Vegas Hub works.

@VEGASDerek

Any news about the issue?

misohoza wrote on 11/14/2022, 3:31 PM

The issue has been solved by cancelling the subscription and looking for some other software that actually works as advertised.

The official support is utterly useless. Three months since opening the ticket and they don't even bother to reply to my emails anymore. What a great customer service.

Bye bye Vegas.

Now I am curious, and have also tried this function.
I also have the same problems as the thread starter. I can't upload anything, although I have (for sure) 100 GB free.

Is there still no solution there? - this is a new feature that is heavily advertised!
I'd ask a moderator to remove the labeling as misohoza's solution - because turning your back on Vegas can't be the solution after all !!!!!!
