Frequent Freezing and Subsequent Crashes

Up until a couple days ago I was using 20.0 and the program worked fine.
Then I started getting the enclosed error message and the program wouldn't open until I "aborted the scan".
I made all the exclusions for all the paths I could think of with no differences in results.

To my knowledge I hadn't changed anything or updated windows to trigger the problem.

Finally, I uninstalled Vegas Pro 20.0 and reinstalled/upgraded to 21.0 (not by choice, I was perfectly happy with 20.0) and now the program will open with no error message, but it only lets me work for a few minutes before it "Stops Responding" and, after several minutes gives me a choice between continuing to wait or closing the program.

This happens every time I use the program now.

Is there a way to replace or repair the "audio_plugin_scan_server_vst2.exe" and "audio_plugin_scan_server_vst3.exe"?
I suspect this is still at the root of the problem.

I can't find a solution online
Plz help.

Try resetting Vegas and clearing the cache.

btw, you may want to re-post or move this to the Vegas 'Video' forum where there are far more viewers and responsers. Audio is the bastard step-child no one pays much attention to or cares about.

Is there any message popping up somewhere when it freezes? This can narrow it down as to what exactly is causing the lock up.
