>>>>Sometimes it is the little things<<<<

To me those are huge things. How 'bout clicking the scroll wheel and auto scrolling? How 'bout dockable window auto-hide?

Are you suggesting features for Vegas? If so, I'd suggest you submit a formal request.

Suggestions when you submit the request:
Define in detail exactly what "auto scrolling"
What does "dockable window auto-hide" mean?
What are the rules for such a feature?
When do they happen, when don't they happpen? Why do they happen?
What purpose do they serve?
Why is this an important feature for lots of people, not just you.

"This and no right clicking in PTools."

That's my number 1 frustration when working with any other app. Just yesterday someone was auditioning a couple audio tracks for me demoing a software compressor they had just wrtten the code for. Originally he was playing them in the Cool Edit stereo editor, so I moved over to the multitrack view and time alligned the 2 tracks so I could more easily A/B them. I went to Normalize the compressed track so their peak amplitudes would match, so I right clicked on the wave.....and doooh!!!!! no right click options. So that immediately made me feel frustrated with the app. If I could just have someone/sometime implement a copy to clipboard in the statistics feature in Sound Forge, I could uninstall the version of CEP I have installed and never have a use for that program again.

oh, yeah when I suggested that copy to clipboard feature to Sony, I gave all the information Peter listed above.

No, I'm concurring with you about the lack of "little thing" features that exist in Vegas that don't in other apps. such as the scroll zoom.

The features I mentioned already exist in Vegas, maybe I didn't describe them correctly.

From the Vegas manual;

Auto-scroll ........ Click wheel button and move mouse

This is where you click and lock the scroll wheel and you can scroll in any direction.

Automatically hide docking area ....... Select this check box if you want the window docking area to hide automatically when you're not using it. Hover over the bottom of the Vegas window to show the window docking area.

This functions just as the Windows task bar does when set to "Auto hide", when it looses focus it collapses out of sight exposing a full track view. When you move your mouse close it pops up.

Details details details. Life is lost and found in the details. While I always sneek in my love for Rewire and anticipate it's arrival in Vegas, I completely understand about it not being written in yet. I have to write code all day, every day...and I have to build web apps end-to-end by myself a lot of the time. Given that my days are forever packed with not tasks, but task lists after task lists, I'm sure someone like Peter has an even greater pile of sh*t to do. I cannot imagine writing on a project like Vegas. Monumental is how I categorize this app...it blows away the standards.

So thanks Peter, for your hard work and for listening to users gripe on these boards. If all software vendors had forums where users could actually converse with the programmers - we'd all have a lot less frustration in our lives! Cuum-ba-yah...

That's it. God is in the details, but the devil is in the choices.

And that would make Steinberg and Cakewalk's/Sonar the devil's advocate.

Ok guys I just purchase a M-audio Duo ( ok I know its not the top of the line but its what I can afford) so far it has done great with other programs like acid 4 and Reason, but I’m having a latency problem w/ Vegas 4.0 it records fine but the monitors are a millisecond behind, what can I do. ( I have already try moving the latency on the program to lowest setting as well as the M-audios to the lowest, also I have try to install the latest updated)
my comp is a : 2.4 pentium, 512, 40 hard, win XP,

"Vegas 5 clearly indicates that we are not ignoring audio for video."

Audio for video or audio or video... this is a worrying statement to me!

Does this mean we'll only ever get audio features the video people are interested in?!
