Help with PowerPoint to DVD

JackW wrote on 9/27/2016, 8:22 PM

A client has sent me a 50 second MP4 clip created by the "export" feature in her PowerPoint.

Project properties in Vegas 13 shows this to be "Custom 1920x1080 30.302fps; PAR 1.000; Field none."

When attempting to render this as a widescreen video stream for DVDA  it's showing up in Properties as PAR 1.212, Lower Field First. I can change the field dominance but not the PAR.

When rendered and burned to DVD, image centering is lost and several slides have their sides clipped, I suspect because the PAR is different.

Any thoughts on how to correct this?  (I really HATE PowerPoint!!)

You may also find that some of the clipping is actually in the powerpoint. Normally powerpoints are formatted for computer screens with information all of the way to the edge. Even new flat screen TVs crop part of the edge image. This varies from TV to TV, but first make sure that your graphics fall within a reasonable Safe Area of viewing.
