How Are These Captions Produced?

DoctorOfMusic wrote on 5/27/2020, 4:46 AM

This is more of a production enquiry that a software issue, but I know there's a lot of expertise here....
So, does anyone have any idea to create the captions used in this video:

I don't actually know what software it was edited with – it may well not have been Vegas – but I'd like to create something similar if I can.
Still on Vegas Pro 15 currently — thanks.

@DoctorOfMusic - Which captions? Give the timecode for reference - please.

The first one (name super) is at 1.48. The link I posted was supposed to take you straight to that point in the video, but the message board system seems to have stripped that information out. Sorry I didn't anticipate that happening ;-(

The first one (name super) is at 1.48.

It's an animated 'lower third' usually part of a Title FX package like BorisFX's Title Studio or NewBlueFX's Titler Pro (though not necessarily exactly the same as in your example).

There's heaps of other third party products as well, and I expect that others on the forum will have many other suggestions of third party products that can do lower thirds.

What Dexcon said as well as it's dirt simple to create these from scratch, yourself if you lack the money.

There are a bunch of lower-thirds packs you can also buy for just a few $ too

System 1:

Windows 10
i9-10850K 10 Core
128.0G RAM
Nvidia RTX 3060 Studio driver [most likely latest]
Resolution        3840 x 2160 x 60 hertz
Video Memory 12G GDDR5

System 2:

Lenovo Yoga 720
Core i7-7700 2.8Ghz quad core, 8 logical
16G ram
Intel HD 630 gpu 1G vram
Nvidia GTX 1050 gpu 2G vram
