How do I turn Media Manager back on?

That's actually quite useful. Means MM can have its own preview window in V10, separate from the V11 that you're working in.

Now I can foresee me having V8 open for MM only, while editing in V12.

Yeah, Nick, I've got a really stripped down instance of VP10 - Preview and MM. I might even try Trimmer and see if I can create subbies from that too.

It was my only hope to nick it from VP10 (lol!)

I wonder if you can drag from MM to other NLEs' timelines.......

What's your question?

It wasn't a question. I was merely wondering. But if you want a question...

Can files be dragged from Sony Media Manager to the Premiere Pro or Edius timeline?

Ah! Understood.

Sorry Grazie, I should have used "one" as opposed to "you" in a Queen's English stylee :)

And based on the fact that one can drag files from MM to various media players (something that I never thought of doing before), one's led to believe that one probably can indeed drag from MM to other NLE's timelines, which would be a very fine thing, should one, for whatever reason, wish to use an NLE other than Vegas, whilst retaining the work one has put into MM.

Nope, Nicko, it was a question that I wanted to hear from you, hence my invite.

I could've remained "wondering" and "wandering". I'll always ask a poster to ask a question rather than a "wonder". As a result your further detailed/explanation that the " . . to other NLE's timelines . . " related to another company's NLE altogether. And THAT was nowhere on my RADAR at all. Good point. Do you have those NLEs? Give it a go?

Nothing to do with "one" or "you".

Grazie

I don't have those NLEs, yet, but may well have one or the other in the future, depending how things go with over the next couple of years with Vegas.

I dropped files on VLC and WMP and GOM Player and they played, so it seems that dragging files out of MM is similar to dragging files out of Windows Explorer, which implies that they could be dropped on NLE timelines.
