Hi Guys,

I want to know how to add those like effects that you see in youtube kids videos, where they place like eyes and mouth moving in videos and those pop color lines and pop. Like in this video

Always wanted to know because i use vegas pro 16 and just know basic edit and trip and such.

Thank you so much

Eyes and mouth moving? Not sure what you mean. I only watched the first half of the first video, so perhaps I missed it. Can you give us the exact time in the video(s) where the desired effects happen?

You could take Synfig and draw your animations. Then mix them with your video. Probably there are other ways, but for this the main tool is not Vegas.

Oh, those are just animations they created in some animation software and placed them on the top track.

Ohh Okay, see i thought this can be done in vegas pro

So i have to use a animation program, draw it than place that animation on the frame i want?

What is a good animation program for stuff like this.

Yes Thank you

I will check it out. So i need to make a animation of the eyes and mouth moving than take that animation and add it to my video frame i want to show for whatever seconds i want to display?

What you want to do is called compositing.

Think of the animation you want to add as a layer of video on top of your base video, much like text may be added to base video. The difference is text is easily generated within Vegas. Although some animation can be accomplished in Vegas, the type of animation you want to do is not very practical to try to accomplish in Vegas.

The cleanest way to composite your animation in Vegas is to render it from your animation software with a format that supports an alpha channel.

Note to self (everyone else please look away -- the note that follows is a reminder for mine eyes only): Figure out a clever, kick-booty signature that suggests I'm completely aware of how to properly and exhaustively party on and that I, in fact, engage in said act on a frequent and spontaneous basis. All joking aside, listing my computer's properties is a futile endeavor. I edit multimedia in a local television station newsroom that has Vegas Pro installed on several machines with widely varied specs. We began editing non-linearly with Pinnacle Studio Version 8. That didn't last long before we upgraded to Vegas Video Version 4, then to Vegas Pro 10.

Thank you Turd,

I will try to make the eyes and mouth moving animation first than safe it and try to add on top of my frame video with composition.

Thank you

It sounds like you're looking for an easy way to do what you want to do. Animation that's done correctly is truly an art. When it's done correctly, animation appears to be easy to do! If it was actually as easy as it looks, everyone would be animation masters.

I certainly don't discourage you from pursuing your vision. In fact, I encourage you to jump into it! The first step, however, is you must accept the fact that the type of animation I think you want to do from scratch comes from talent, heart, or the fortitude to persevere. Choose at least two of those conditions and animate forth!

I tried it three times. Every time it wants my email address and promises to send me a download link, but it never does. 😠
