How to change only Y luminance from 16-255 to 16-235?

How do I change ONLY the Y luminance value in the source file?

From what I can see, I get the best effect by:
a) changing the color range from Limited to Full
b) using the Brightness/Contrast filter
After these two actions, the U and V ranges are similar, but only similar.

Is it even possible to load a file as Limited and then restore the range that was just cut off by such loading (236-255)?
Or maybe using a LUT would be the best and easiest? But where can I get one?

Of course I can use Avisynth, but I would like to avoid that. Actually I wonder if Vegas could take U and V planes from one file, and Y from the other :)
Oh, how badly AviSynth support is missing in Vegas...

I would think you could get acceptable results with a Color Curve no matter which Media Property selection you choose.

Full

Limited

When Vegas started managing levels in version 18, there was much discussion from people with cameras that shoot in the range of 16-255. Search would probably produce a lot of thought fodder. To date, I've heard nothing about a properties setting that recognizes that the camera shoots 16-255.

Personally, I switched picture profiles in my camera and I have to worry about it less for the types of video that I shoot.

I tried, it doesn't work. You can see this by turning on the Luma/a/b histogram.

@rgr Hi, sorry I don't know much about this but Colour Grading has a Y slider, is that related?
