How to edit titles separately

In the past, I have built a title on the front of every video, but as I learn more about titling options, I find my old titles are way too plain. I would like to be able to develop the videos without titles so I can upgrade all the titles and sounds associated with them without changing their corresponding videos. Another reason for having them separate would be when organizing a DVD. If the video is selected from a DVD menu, a title would not be necessary, but if the same video is a part of a “Play All” playlist, then titles would be helpful. How might I do this?

Consider building your titles in a separate project(s) and nest the title project in your main project.

I usually use Photoshop which has great text capabilities. I then save out a .png for Vegas.

You can also use .psds directly on the timeline but Vegas does not usually let go of them (even with the option selected) so you have to exit Vegas every time you want to save changes in Photoshop.

I have Photoshop and use it a lot for stills - capture a frame, add arrows or text, and Insert it back in the time line. But I have always used .jpg highest quality. Is there a reason you use .png? Oh - I'll bet is for the transparency capability.

.png supports multiple layers. .jpg does not.

.PSD supports multiple layers that can be used in Vegas Pro across time or multiple tracks.

I'm using .png for uncompressed quality and transparency.
