Also with the Vegas deform FX you can quickly achieve a skew effect, not direct necessary to go 3D.

You would probably improve your understanding of Vegas Pro significantly if you would struggle to do that using Pan/Crop and Track Motion/3D Source Alpha at least once in your life.
