How to inserting marker to a media clip?

This question has been asked before (back in 2006)! But I haven't found a solution to it since...

I need to sync many video and audio clips. I need to mark the sync points (e.g. clapper board) in the clip itself and then line them all up. Doing it in the trimmer isn't particularly helpful because I often need to line up the clips visually (and by listening) on the timeline and then mark the sync point in the clip in question itself.

How can I do this - without having to open each clip in the trimmer?

I'm sorry I can't help you, but thanks so much for this, you've just helped me. I've wanted to be able to put a mark onto a music clip itself and then be able to use that mark to more easily align it visually to a part in the video, but I never realised you could do that in the trimmer. I've now added "Insert Marker" and "Save Markers" to the visible Trimmer buttons. Thanks again, and I hope you get your question answered 🙂

I recall reading Vegasaur or HOS (Happy Otter Scripts) has something that may work.

A script can't add a marker to an event - only to the timeline. To add a marker to the event, you must use the trimmer and manually add it.

@gary-o

If you place your markers on an event in a nested timeline they will appear, however faintly, on a master timeline.
