I can't render my project

k15Storm wrote on 11/29/2023, 4:33 AM

I have a notebook with a dedicated video card i7 11th generation processor, 24GB of ram and a 1tb SSD, my Vegas Pro version 21 build 187, I have a project that I need to render urgently, the last time I went to render it was crashing due to lack of memory, and it didn't even use up all the memory, I saw some tutorials to solve this and I managed to solve this problem, but it still doesn't render because during the process it gives an error and closes, I've tried everything I saw on the internet, changing the settings, the internal settings, what I got was a video lasting two minutes with a rendering time of 2 hours and an error of 30, 20% of the rendering.
I trusted my work to this program and I'm delaying delivery because Vegas doesn't render

What precisely is the error? When it happens next, can you take a screen copy of it and upload the image to the forum via the upload button in the header when adding comment to this thread.

Also, could you please provide details about the media that you are using especially by using a MediaInfo report (a free app) - https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download

My guess would be an issue with the media. Re-encoding and replacing it may help.

Otherwise what about rendering through Voukoder? It may help.

@k15Storm - Sounds good.

I have a project that I need to render urgently,

@k15Storm - Sure. When's that deadline? Today? Tomorrow? Next week?

.....the last time I went to render it was crashing due to lack of memory, and it didn't even use up all the memory, I saw some tutorials to solve this and I managed to solve this problem, but it still doesn't render because during the process it gives an error and closes, I've tried everything I saw on the internet, changing the settings, the internal settings, what I got was a video lasting two minutes with a rendering time of 2 hours and an error of 30, 20% of the rendering.

@k15Storm - Ouch, that's truly unacceptable.

I trusted my work to this program and I'm delaying delivery because Vegas doesn't render

@k15Storm - Well, you've come to the right place in this Open Forum. I see this is your first Post. But, as has been suggested above we do require more details if we are to help further. Your deadline might just be too much for all of us to comply with your outcomes.

Be assured we would all like to get you what you want.

@k15Storm

Yes, I rendered a short film, and everything went well, I used 4k videos recorded from a Go Pro and several layers of effects and transitions, in this now I'm using png images, video composition and just 2 layers of effects, are the images png are they being the problem? I used the same rendering settings, the only difference is the proportions, in the short film it was 2560x1444 and in this 2560x1920 the same proportions as the respective project settings

john_dennis wrote on 11/29/2023, 9:08 AM

Where are you going to show 2560 x 1920 video?

Humor me and try to render a 1920x 1080 version.

I will use it in an 8x6 meter background projection of a ballet performance, but i can try render in 1920x1080

VCRUNTIME140.dll is a crash of Visual C++ I believe. Check if those are updated? What's crashing it is a question.

You might try Voukoder as I suggested above, it's free to use and reliable and integrates into the VEGAS render options.

Don't despair with Vegas Pro. Once you get your bugs worked out, you'll be able to deliver all sorts of unusual output types all day, every day. If I can do it, anybody can.

@k15Storm This is my contribution. Vegas Hub has been known to cause problems. Close that tab:

Also, take a look at the Performance Monitor on the Task Manager and see that your CPU/GPU are near idle before rendering. Sometimes Vegas Hub will run the CPU at 100% for a lengthy time. This will cause playback and rendering problems. Anyway, I keep Vegas Hub permanently closed until I need it again.

  1. Did this C++ runtime update recently? If so, uninstall it and let it reinstall overnight from the web. The DLL that threw the error is part of this package.
  2. I had to uninstall all of the November updates because my machine froze up. I uninstalled them and let them update again overnight, and all is well.

I'm running Windows 10 22H2

Is Vegas Pro registered? Are you running a trial? There is a two-minute render limitation on a trial. Or, so I've been told.

k15Storm wrote on 11/29/2023, 9:11 PM

@john_dennis My Vegas Pro is registered, I've had it for about 4 months and it's not working as it should, the preview screen is red, it's crashing when I press play, a complete mess and it started to look like this 3 days ago

@k15Storm

Here is a strategy that I use to find a problem when it only shows at render time.

Mute half the tracks and render.

If the render fails, mute the remaining tracks and unmute the first half of the tracks.

If this render is successful, unmute one track at a time and render until the offending track causes the render to fail.

Decide what fX or media defect, etc. may be on the track that causes the render to fail and proceed with a fix or circumvention.
