I can't use video file to edit video on Vegas

Park-Junoh wrote on 11/23/2023, 10:27 PM

When I upload video file on timeline for edit video,

Vegas started loading for a bit and it said 'Activation code is not valid'.

I keep tried to upload video file, but it repeated same error message and sometimes said 'Computer can't connect to the Internet'.

The question is when I upload image file on timeline, it works without any problems, and my computer is connected with Internet correctly.

I'm korean, so I bought Vegas Suite 21 in Soundcat, which is official importer in Korea, and I downloaded it following official guideline.

As a beginner, I searched the Internet to solve the above problem but I couldn't find a solution.

So I ask this problem on Vegas site, and I hope I can find solution.

What video media do you want to put to timeline?

Some video format require VEGAS to connect to server to be activated, so it is necessary for the computer where VEGAS is installed, can be connected to internet so the activation process can run smoothly.

I think you should contact Soundcat as they provide support in your region and can help if the code doesn't work.

Um... I thought it might be a problem with the file format as your opinion, so I converted the mp4 file into an avi file, and the video was uploaded normally.

However, the mp4 file still makes the same error when I touch it.

Is it impossible to use mp4 file without server connection?

I believe it needs to activate aac one time. After that you can work offline.

By uploaded you mean imported into VEGAS?

Yes, It's as you think.

Every time an mp4 file is imported into the timeline, an error occurs, but avi files can imported and edited normally.

Try Soundcat support then if you aren't able to activate media types you use (AVC with AAC audio).

AVI may use PCM or other audio that doesn't require licensing fees.
