So on my timeline I see that the VIDEO and Audio are there but when I play it the preview screen will play the video for ten seconds and then go black... I have tried several video and it does the same... .I have cleared the cache, factory reset to no avail... any help would be greatly appreciated!

... Sony Vegas Pro 17 to 21

Niether Vegas Pro 17 or 21 were released by Sony - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/sony-vegas-vs-vegas--119881/

Why Vegas Pro is still considered by some to be a Sony product 8 years after Vegas Pro ceased to be a Sony product is inexplicable? After all, there is no Sony branding at all on MAGIX's Vegas Pro's website and hasn't been from Vegas Pro 14 onwards.
