I the $150 upgrade deal for a past version?

I got the email today for the BlackFriday $150 deal VEGAS Pro 14 Edit Upgrade

Do I need a older version for this or can I use it on it's own?

If you have received an upgrade email then you qualify for the offer. I got that clarification from MAGIX staff. You would not need an older product actually installed in order to run the installer that you will receive if you purchase the upgrade. I am seeing that the offer is still available.

Yeah, it's still there. $200 is a great deal for Vegas. I'm going to grab it. I have Premier already but it never feels right. Always liked Sony better.

The deal is back to $199 for Edit and $249 for Pro with NewBlue and Mercalli -- and $349 for the Suite with Motion tracking. .. I think BF deal was $50 less all around .. I paid $249 for Pro and haven't looked back ..
