Image Cut Off...!

Quin-Child wrote on 8/30/2021, 11:15 PM

On single or multiple track video I import a source that is 1920 x 1080 that I know plays correctly but after bringing it into Movie Studio 17.0 Platinum it does not fill the preview window and does not render full size. I have been working on this for weeks...! So frustrating....! I have tried everything I could find on Youtube and Google.

  • Things I have tried:
  • Adjusted the project to be the same size as imported media (1920 x 1080)
  • Many other combinations of size have been tried too....
  • Movie Studio 17.0 has been reset to factory
  • Movie Studio has been un-installed and re-installed
  • Event pan and crop has been adjusted to exactly hold the video
  • Many different video sources have been tried.
  • Many render settings have been tried. (I mostly use Sony AVC/MVC)

I will attach a photo that shows how event pan and crop is adjusted and how the preview window cuts it off. I will be so grateful to anyone that can explain what the problem is. I do feel that I have basic knowledge of this program but I can not solve this issue on my own.

What track FX do you have applied to the track? I suspect you may have a PIP FX.

@EricLNZ The dreaded PIP track strikes again.

Except Quin isn't using the PIP track but maybe somehow the FX got copied? That's assuming that is the problem. Hopefully we'll find out when he comes back.

@EricLNZ Yes, I was looking at the image on my phone and didn’t see the empty PIP track. However, he does have track motion active on his video track, and his other tracks also.

As you can see the pip is on all three track. It happens to me many times with my 16P, I launch the app and BANG! three tracks with pip. No one claim VMS was perfect...LOL

I want to thank everyone....

I don't see how this problem persisted through re-installation and everything else I tried but it was the FX settings. I will attach two pictures, one with the problem and one without. That is the hint I needed. When I disable the FX, the problem is solved. Sooo Soooo Happy....! WOW....!

@Quin-Child Uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't reset some settings so a "Factory Reset" is needed. Usually when strange problems crop up a "Factory Reset" will solve it without having to resort to reinstalling.

For future reference the reset instructions are here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/ Whilst written for Vegas Pro it also applies to Vegas Movie Studio.
