I was able to import MP4 gaming records to the VEGAS Movie Studio 17 Platinum. However, out of a sudden whenever I try to drag a file it will show the symbol of a red circle with a crossed line in the middle. The general prohibition sign. Any solution.
We will need a little more information on your media. MP4 only tells us the wrapper that your media is contained in. It should be noted that VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum does not support some media formats that VEGAS Pro does.

We need to know specifically what is contained in the MP4 file. An MP4 file is like a paper sack, it can hold many different things - some of which VEGAS can use, some of which VEGAS can't. So "MP4" really doesn't say anything about the file other that it has this extension in the file name. For details, look specifically at C1 which points you here:

The file's video is HEVC. I don't know if VMS17 supports HEVC. I have VMS17 but don't have any HEVC files to check.
Have a look with MediaInfo at your mp4 files that have imported previously. Are they also HEVC?
I've now had the opportunity to download a few files containing "hevc" video.
With files which are "hevc" file type I couldn't get any to open in VMS17Plat
With files which are "mp4" file type some opened in VMS17Plat.
