Question: Should Nvidia resurrect the RTX-2060 with 12GB of memory, would it render faster in Vegas Pro than the standard RTX-2060 6GB version?
It's really difficult to work out what is the optimum GPU for Vegas when thinking about value for money, the most performance per dollar .In other editors it's dead simple. you look at the GPU use. This is another editor trying to playback an 8K AV1, CPU use is fine, so is GPU decode, but it's really easy to see the problem, my GPU is not powerful enough to even playback the raw video without dropping frames let alone edit. Solution is probably an rtx3080
Vegas Pro is different, you can't look at GPU use in the same way it rarely is very high on playback or render, and yet a more powerful GPU will be faster then a weaker one there's plenty of benchmarks to show that, the strange thing with Vegas is that unlike the example shown here, the weaker GPU doesn't show as being overloaded. I don't really know how Vegas uses the GPU and why it's use is different to other editors and what optimum GPU for Vegas is (price per performance)
