Disable all anti-virus or protection software you may have installed on your system. Restart and give the Vegas installer another go.

Tried it, disabled all my antivirus and firewall but still getting the same error.

Wait- I spoke too soon. I got further than before and was able to install the software. However, when I was trying to register my product I kept seeing this:

"An online connection could not be established. Please make sure that your computer is correctly connected to the Internet. A firewall may also be blocking access." I disabled my firewall completely, restarted my PC and tried again and got the same error. Also tried the "Reset your internet settings" button below but it didn't help.

I activated the free trial and was able to get into the application that way no problem. However, it seems my serial number is not working- I get the above error any time I try to activate my code.

Try going to your MAGIX My Account / My Products and double-checking the serial number. And make sure that you are using the exact same email address in the registration/activation process that you used to purchase Vegas Pro.

The serial number is the exact same as what it says in My Products and the email address is correct. I've checked both multiple times /:

In Windows account you have to be the adminestrator on this machine and after that start the program "as adminestrator"
