Iphone 16 audio not working on vegas pro 21

So my iphone 13 footage works almost fine on vegas pro 21 (still clunky and crashes, but works 90% of the time). But with my new iphone 16 footage the audio is not working. It works at the start sometimes but then randomly decides to stop working. Also i can see two audio tracks instead of one. Please help. I am on windows 10 (i refuse to update to windows 11 as i will have to re-install everything)

From Adobe's forum, there was a similar question about iPhone 16 not working in Premiere Pro:

The correct answer was:

Try turning off spatial audio in the iOS device's camera settings
