Is there a keyboard shortcut for trim from playhead to event end/start

Hi:

I have searched in the manual, online on a variety of websites and can't find the answer, which probably suggests this is not possible. Thought I would post here just in case I missed something. Basically, is there a keyboard shortcut where I can trim from the start of an event to the playhead, and trim from the playhead to the end of an event in one go? So I am playing a clip and think, actually it would be better to start here / end here and hit the keyboard shortcut and voila the event is trimmed to that point.

Thanks in advance.

Gerbow.

You could certainly do that via a script. You would just assign the script to a specific keypress. However, open the help file and go to the "Adjusting an event's length" section. There I found this (is this what you're looking for?):

Trimming an event to the cursor position

Select the Normal tool .

Select the event you want to trim.

Position the cursor at the point where you want the event to start or end.

Trim the start or end of the event:

Click the Trim Start button (or press Alt+[) to trim the start of the event to the cursor position.

Click the Trim End button (or press Alt+]) to trim the end of the event to the cursor position.

Thank you. I don't know much about scripting in Vegas, so I will have to find some tutorials to help.

@gerbow46

Which Vegas version do you have?
I think this function is standard since Vegas Pro 15 and doesn't need a script (anymore)

Great. Thanks. I had started to look at the scripting and was finding it daunting to have to do that.
