It crashed when i opened the project file of vegas pro 13. It said system will out of memory, then whole system failed. I need to reboot system to recovery. Is there any low limit of memory to use vegas pro 14?
How much real memory do you have? Does Windows manage your page file or have you managed the settings manually? Is there any space on the hard drive(s) where your page file(s) resides?
I have the same problem when opening projects created in Movie Studio 13. But those same projects work fine in Vegas Pro 13. Only 14 crashes. It uses up to 8GB out of 16GB then crashes. In 13 only 4GB are used.
I just doubt if vp14 can support old version project file. I try to do same thing in vp14 rather than open the old file. Every thing is fine without out of memory. Then I open a new project in vp14 and add vp13 project file to the timeline. It's ok. It just can't open vp13 project file directly.

I can open smaller VP13 projects in VP14, but not larger ones. If I rebuild those big old projects in VP14, they eventually reach a point where I run out of memory. I believe it's usually a memory-handling bug in VP14 and not an incompatibility with older project formats. But your old project might have a 3rd-party FX or plugin in it that is incompatible with VP14.
I've tried a dozen old projects from Moviie Studio 13 and they all work fine in Vegas Pro 13 except some plugins which still do work but with watermarks. Those same projects crash in VP14 with Windows closing Vegas to avoid data loss in other programs. There is clearly a memory managment issue. I only have 2 VP13 projects and they do seem to be ok in 14 but they are only 15mins.
