Lecture fichier .MTS

PierreH wrote on 2/14/2023, 2:17 AM

Hello,

My problem :

Since the installation of Upgrade 2 (Vegas Pro 20 - 326), I can't read .MTS files filmed with a Panasonic Lumix GH4R camera  in AVCHD. Vegas crashes completely in this situation. But I can read these files with Vegas Pro 20 - 214.

The technical support doesn't understand this issue If anybody has a solution, I will be so enjoyed, because I am blocked at Vegas Pro 20 (214) and I can't upgrade my version.

Configuration PC x64 :

OS : Microsoft Windows 10 Family    Version    10.0.19044 Build 19044

Graphic card :    AMD Ryzen 7 1800X Eight-Core Processor, 3600 MHz, 8 cœur(s), 16 processeur(s) logique(s)

Motherboard : ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC PRIME B350-PLUS, Version Rev X.0x

RAM 16,0 Go

Thank you so much for your help.

@PierreH Presumably you've searched the forum and found this recent thread https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-20-crashes-on-import-of-mts-file--139434/

On my system specs (signature), I recorded to my Panasonic G9, two AVCHD (MTS) files, one progressive, the other interlaced. They both imported and played back fine on my computer.

Using the latest build of VP20.

@PierreH, you failed to give your graphics card information.

My graphics card is an AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series.

Reyfox wrote on 2/14/2023, 3:28 AM

That card series (which specific model?) came out in 2010 and had 1 or 2GB of RAM and does not support VCE. This is below the specs required and posted on the Vegas Pro website to run the software.

Website for Vegas Pro 20:

AMD/ATI® Radeon with 4GB and VCE 3.0 or higher

Not sure how it worked with the past build of Vegas 20.

I'm amazed that card works at all in VP 20. My system from 2011 had a similar one with just 1GB of video ram and couldn't really work with VP 15.

I'd strongly recommend a recent AMD GPU or getting a used NVIDIA 20XX or 30XX card or an Intel ARC A750 (which has good decoding for Vegas).

In the meantime if this GPU is detected in VP 20.326, turn it off in preferences/video and preferences/ file io and maybe Vegas will work without crashes? Your CPU from 2017 should be good enough to handle this video without the GPU's help.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your help. I have changed my graphic card for a NVIDIA KFA2 GeForce RTX 3050 EX (1-Click OC) LHR and all is OK now. I can read my .mts files.

Best regards
