Magix upgrade popup whitescreens/crashes V16

Hi All,

Quick BG: Seems that a Win 7 (Yes, I'm still using it) update caused V16 to crash when using any render setting...it opened and worked until render time. I uninstalled/re-installed and re-registered with Magix.

PROBLEM: When Vegas loads, a popup for an upgrade to V21 appears and whitescreens then crashes Vegas. I was able to hit the "X" close button a couple of times, and was able to proceed as normal, but it mostly crashes first. I disconnected my PC from the Internet and it launched normally. BUT I shouldn't have to do that! There appears to be a check box at the bottom of the popup, but it is greyed out.

Please: Does anyone know which specific file in the program files folder Magix snuck into the install, so that I can delete it ? Been using Vegas since V4 and have never seen this kind of nonsense.

Any help would really be appreciated.

PS: Please don't ask for computer specs, media info, etc. They are not the problem as old V13 and V18 (Humble bundle just like V16) work fine. The issue only happened when I had to re-register online.

Thanks,

Ken

Thank you John! That was it. I generally re-check prefs if I change something...this one slipped by me. I made sure it was unchecked in V18 as well.
