Hope this helps. After testing you only need to add one point for each mute. Add a point and drag it down to where you want it to mute.

@Former user I tried that. To get a gradual fade away use the Composite Level Envelope with as many Points as you wish.

The way he is set up, Composite Level does not work because it kills the luminance key.

Give me a few minutes, and I will.

I am calling it a night here its late, but I was wondering if you could please post a video. I have never done anything with mute envelopes.

Thanks

Ron

I will look at it again tomorrow, its very late here. Can see straight too tired. I was just wondering when I seen your video you didin't have any black space at the end of your text track. Did you trim it back before you put the mute envelope on?

@Former user Working here. Have you tried it? I can get the Text to fade away and the underlying Video comes to Life.

Hmmm. Yeah it didn't work when I tried it. But I was in a hurry and might have grabbed the wrong envelope.

It works fine with the mute option, but what others were you using? Can you post an example, or should we call this case closed.

I think the mute or the white generated are your two options. I like the mute better myself. You might try Composite Level Envelope. Grazie says it works for him, but it didn't for me.

And yes it does work for him. I just checked it again - and it does - it's a MONSTA

Here's a picture of Points Created ON-THE-FLY using LATCHED Automation whilst the Cursor was playing:

Could somebody please confirm or deny my results?

Here's another one - I'm liking the touching Leading and heavily Kerned look:

Thanks for everyone's help, this board is great. Lots of knowledgeable people here. I decided to use the Mute Envelope as it works perfect for me. I can not get the other one working unless someone posts a video on it. Thanks again.

Did you follow my steps on the ScreenGrab?

Anyways, thanks for channeling my creative ideas towards a solution.

I could not follow the pics, any way you can post a video? DO you have Snagit? It does screen recordings, here:

In your video you inserted the Mute Envelope at the end of the text, did you trim the text off before you put the Mute on? What I mean is when I play the text back at close to the end it goes black, I have to trim it back where the video is and then apply the Mute.

Jam_One wrote on 4/7/2018, 12:30 PM

...Was it that hard or blasphemous to make transparent text on the black background in the first place... to save yourself from lots of "PITA&Rocket science"...

BTW, scaling can be made with text controls either, in order to reduce aliasing, since font is a vector object.
BTW, adding slight blur is desirable to avoid residual aliasing.

No, I am not going to make a video about this.

Lol . .. @Jam_One : I'd agree about a Text Plate, but our colleague started from the place he was. Actually, the Plate is a far simpler and more efficient use of Space and PC grunt. Yup, this would be the way to go.
