The zoom issue from stabilisation is an important issue if the final release/render is going to be at the same image size as the original footage (e.g. HD to HD; 4K to 4K), but not so much of a problem if the original footage is 4K and the final render is going to be HD.
Just returned to the Vegas fold after a few years away, I'm looking to stabilize footage (mostly taken with action cameras (GoPro & Garmin Virb) from a motorbike. To be fair the footage is not an easy stabilize job - twin cylinder BMW means quite a lumpy ride - to be fair it all gets better at speed (not sure I can quote that as an excuse to the police!). Mercalli appears to do a "slightly" better job on the footage so far but Corona lockdown prevents gathering further footage. I'm just wondering whether to make the jump and purchase now as there seems to be good discounts on Mercalli (though comparing it's proceed to the upgrade cost of Vegas is quite shocking).
When I got Mercalli SAL they were including one plugin for free, so I got the Vegas one so my decision to buy was based on the timing of their sale. However, another good time to buy & mess with new apps is when you have time, i.e. due to Corona...
