Mixing 25p & 30p footage in the same timeline?

I amtrying to render a video that has footage from 2 different cameras.
One being shot at 25fps & the other at 30fps.
Both cameras shoot progressive footage (canon XA20/Panasonic HVX200)
I can render the footage with no problems if they are separate ie; rendering the 25p footage on a 25p timeline & 30p on a 30p timeline.
So when I put them together Vegas keeps crashing.
I am using vegas pro 12 & just updated it to the latest build last week or so.
I keep getting a pop up window saying my computer is low on memory & vegas needs to close.
Any ideas of why this is happening & how do I fix it?
I am using an ASUS G73 laptop with 16gb ram, i7 2630 & an Nvidia GTX460m
I have never had this problem up until now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou.

You haven't stated where you are in the world, PAL or NTSC, and what your target output is: streaming, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.

If you're in the US and will be going to DVD or Blu-ray, you could convert the 25 fps to 23.97 fps using a lossless intermediate, edit the mixed timeline and render to a 60i output. There are well-worn paths to getting 23.97 fps video onto a 60i DVD and Blu-ray.

Hi John,
I am in Australia. The final output is purely for internet upload.
Cheers Pete.

There have been many discussions of frame rate conversion on the forum. They can be searched using apropriate related search arguments.

This one and this one may help you.

Peter, I've been using Bob's method very heavily over the past month. It works.
