MOV File created in Titler Pro is unsupported in Vegas 19

There certainly should be no reason for VEGAS to want to recode those files. Plus, if it redoes it as an MP4, you'll lose the transparency information. You might try an older version of QT to see if that makes a difference.

@nut4squirrel In your new post put the file your unable to load into Vegas in a zipped folder, (right click on your windows folder - New zipped folder) drag your MOV file in there, Open Google Chrome, top right next to your icon is a little sq with dots, click it & open Google Drive, drag the zipped folder on there, , right click on it & choose Share, in that pop-up choose at he bottom Share with anyone who has the link, then copy the link & paste in your new post comment using the chain icon at the top, I & others will happily try it to see if it's your pc or the file that's the problem.

For some reason, I can no longer bring in TP5 mov into Vegas. I tried again, deleting the appdata folder, and still no joy. I tried VP17 and couldn't bring it in either.

Scratching my head again....

Solved with VP19 by going into Preferences Internal and changing "Show warning for media which is not suited for edit" from TRUE to FALSE, and now the TP mov files can be dragged and dropped on the timeline and work perfectly...after doing the chroma thing.

Thanks @RogerS for this solution.

Should be "show warning...". (Hold shift and head up into the menus to get into internal preferences)

Just for the record for Vegas Pro users here. I think ALL MAGIX video editing programs are affected!

I use MAGIX VPX13 with TP6 plug-in, and my MOV files created with TP6 used to work great in my VPX video productions. However, late last year I received a "security loophole alert" from one of my antivirus programs which also stated Apple will no longer support Quicktime! So, to protect my Windows 10 PC, I de-installed Quicktime.

Now I am no longer able to use my paid TP6 which exports only to MOV files in my VPX! And, my old VPX projects using MOV files no longer work even though I can open MOV files on my Windows PC using Windows Media Player! 😢 I am no expert with video productions, but it is truly sad that this "chain reaction" occured when Apple refused to continue Quicktime support on the Windows platform! I do hope, as someone here wrote, that NewBlue will soon use a different export format if Apple will no longer support Quicktime! See screenshots:

@Glenn-Rossi Apple hasn't supported QT for Windows 8 years ago. You can have the QT player installed, but not the browser addon. Also, do you have in Options>Preferences>Deprecated Features, Enable the Quicktime Plugin, check marked?

Also, with VPX12 and MEP2022, I can play my MOV files just fine. I do have the QT player installed.

Thanks, Reyfox. I de-installed it because I read several Internet AV warnings about security loopholes in the last Apple versions of Quicktime for Windows. If you say, it is okay to have it installed again without any browser plugin installed, then I will try that. However, your last comment is unclear to me. Do I still need to install the plug-in in a browser with the settings you mention? (Is there a difference from "addon" you mentioned and a "plug-in" or do you mean a plug-in inside my VPX13?)

Reyfox wrote on 3/14/2022, 4:24 PM

@Glenn-Rossi IIRC, if you install QT7.x, you have the option to also install in browser plugin. I didn't. I only installed the player only. I also have Bitdefender and Malwarebytes also running on my computer. Never even a warning of an attack.

Since you are using Vegas Pro, did you try check marking the Deprecated feature and see if it works in Vegas?

@Glenn-Rossi Hi, many of these programs have the option to install their browser extension, as @Reyfox says just click no, I've always got the Quicktime 7.7.9 player installed & never get warnings, I never use the player it's just the codecs that it comes with that you need, I don't think i've ever read about anybody having problems getting hacked because of Quicktime installed, In the player there's some preferences but none i see are a risk, you don't need to sign in to anything or put sensitive information in, Just install it & then ignore it.
