Moving on...

Wanted to drop a note to the forum users that I am no longer a part of SCS.

It was just over 19 years ago that I started for Sonic Foundry. Along the way we created some great products. I met a lot of loyal and passionate users here. I always enjoyed being part of the discussion, debate, and hope I helped.

The users was why I did this. These forums were always important to me.

Thanks for all of the passion.

Indeed, good luck. 19 years is FOREVER in this business.

Hopefully SCS will leave your posts intact, there is some really good stuff in them.

Peter, thanks immensely for your work on ACID, Vegas, Sound Forge and whatever else you managed to do in your spare time. And your voice on this forum will be greatly missed!

I admire Peter's ability to stand his ground while showing respect for those who disagree.
You will do great wherever you go next.

Many thanks for making Vegas possible. We've edited many a project in it, including two features, and nothing compares. Best of wishes.

Peter,

When I went out my own, my first NLE was Speed Razor running on a DEC Alpha platform with a DPR / DVR card set and if it wasn't for the HallSound Systems Windows NT audio driver for my Turtle Beach Multisound card, I probably wouldn't have been too successful ;-)

Thanks for all you've done in the industry to help make us little guys competitive!

Peter, Thank you for being one of the few SCS employees that actually helped us users in these forums. I know these forums are "user supported" but your posts were always above and beyond the call of duty. You will be missed around here. Good Luck!

Not to mention Hallsound's help with the TB Tahiti (still have it somewhere !).

Also here since Vegas Video and Vegas Audio 3. Feel a bit like a bollock has been removed. Well maybe not quite ....

Doing some quick on-line stalking found this from 1996 !

Thanks Peter, and all the best for whatever's next.

Peter, you've always dealt with me with both ease and not a little brevity. I'm not the easiest! Dave Hill recognised this in me. And, as you say, Users are the best Stakeholders. Let that be our mantras going forward with making VP and the rest of it.

To say I'll miss you on these boards is an understatement, something I find difficult to do - being understatement-ing.

I'm bereft and, like the Dead Parrot sketch, I've fallen off me perch, with being stunned by your leaving.

Of course I most heartily wish you the very best for your next venture and passions. I wished I'd known you better. Do you guys know he invented the "Beat-Mapper"? I for one ain't worthy..... Never was.

Graham "Grazie" Bernard

Peter has been around the centre of Sound Forge, the world leading audio properties of Vegas and Acid, (sadly neglected of late), and was often one of the few SCS programmers who, in his own time, contributed so valuably to this forum.

Unless your future employment precludes this, Peter, I hope you will continue to use Vegas and the other SCS programs, and as a peer user, that you will feel free to continue adding your wisdom here occasionally!

Pete, ditto on all the other responses. Never had a chance to work with you, but you and your peers have created some fine products.

But as they say, the only constant in life is change. Nineteen years is an extraordinary interval in the world of computers and software. It highlights both your dedication and also the longevity of the SonicFoundry/Sony software products.

I've used Vegas since version 3 and I will continue to use it since it still cannot be bested by competitors in many respects.

Best regards.

Peter, while at times I (perhaps we) did not like the message or the Sony party line that you were required to tow, I thank you for your involvement, support and expertise you have given. (in other words... nothing personal! :) )

Best of luck to you and yours!
