MP4 file hangs V14 and now looks corrupt in V13

I installed V14 last night and wanted to do a bit of work with it today.

A couple times a month, we record a 2 hour event (as an MP4), drop it into the Vegas timeline, do some quick clean-up and re-render for vimeo. Super simple.

I thought this would be a quick and easy project for V14.

I dropped my file on the timeline and then it hung after processing 5% of the audio.

We are on a TIGHT timeline, so I opened up V13 and dropped the file into the timeline (like I have done for 2 years) and it became all green on the timeline. (You guys know what I am talking about). It also does not play!

I have already uninstalled V14 and am about to go back to the restore point before I installed it.

Any idea what it could have installed to mess things up? A new faulty codec or something?

What device / software do you use to record the event?

Do you still have the backup of the record file elsewhere?

Does it play OK in media players such as Windows Media Player or VLC?

Hi Guys,

I am recording on a tricaster (model 460AE2) and yes, I still have the original file. After running it through Adobe Media Encoder I was able to use the resulting MP4 for my editing.

Also, yes, it plays just fine in both VLC and Windows Media Player.

Here is the mediainfo for the file in question - I notice that it is interlaced and should be 60i. Could that be the issue?
