Multicamera Synchronize Audio Sync Fails in Vegas22 Build 239

I have 3 tracks of video with audio in standard Sony file formats. I have one large track in .wav format.

When I select all the tracks to sync by using the Multicamera synchronize audio feature, it will process for a couple of minutes and then crash Vegas.

Operating System  Platform: Windows 10.0 (64-bit) Version: 10.00.19045

Processor  Class: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-7960X CPU @ 2.80GHz  Identifier: GenuineIntel
Number of processors: 32  MMX available: Yes  SSE available: Yes  SSE2 available: Yes  SSE3 available: Yes
SSSE3 available: Yes  SSE4.1 available: Yes  SSE4.2 available: Yes

Display  Primary: 3840x2160x32

Memory  Physical memory: 32,461.2 MB
  Paging memory available: 48,461.3 MB

I've re-installed the latest C++ Redistributable reference in the Problem Report.

Here's what I've noticed: While this is processing, I was watching my computer's memory allocation. Vegas was bouncing around between 6GB, 14GB, 21, 22, 23GB. When the memory allocation went 25/26GB and my computer's memory overall allocation hit 95%, Vegas immediately threw the error. And this is repeatable.

At this point, it's obviously a memory issue (or lack of). Is there a setting somewhere besides the ones available on the Video Preferences page that can be tweaked to restrict this functions from requesting so much RAM?

Thanks for any suggestions.

There's no user setting to limit ram use.

Is the Sony media 10-bit HEVC? MediaInfo could make it easier for others to replicate the memory leak.

The video files are straight from a Sony FDR-AX100 in 4K.

Format                                   : XAVC Codec ID   : XAVC (XAVC/mp42/iso2)
File size                                : 35.4 GiB Duration                                 : 1 h 30 min
Overall bit rate mode                    : Variable Overall bit rate                         : 55.8 Mb/s
Frame rate                               : 29.970 FPS

The audio file is a wav file created by a Cymatic Audio card in the expansion slot of a Behringer X32.

Format                                   : Wave Format settings : Pcm Wave format
File size                                : 2.11 GiB Duration                                 : 4 h 22 min
Overall bit rate mode                    : Constant Overall bit rate                         : 1 152 kb/s

Converting the wav file to mp3 didn't help.

What did help was splitting the wav file into smaller pieces that were closer to the actual size of one of the clips from the camera. This is a musical that was performed at a high school. When I spit the long audio file to be relatively close to the videos from Act 1, then selecting only the Act 1 clips and trying the MultiCamera Audo sync, it worked. It took a lot longer that Pluraleyes would have taken, but it did eventually work.
