Need Titles & Text plug in end animations

brian-smith wrote on 1/4/2022, 1:56 PM

The native animated titles and text plug ins are good. I would like to see controls for adjusting the properties of the text in speed and type of movement along with text exit properties. Right now I can't find a way to have the text animate at the end

All text options can be animated in time on their own timeline

Yes I know that but I want to affect the way the text comes in and out. Control for each paragraph, line, word or letter. The text has no animation out option. Unless I am missing something.

@brian-smith, Sorry, but you don't have control of that with that titler. If you're ambitious, you can activate the ProType Titler from the Deprecated Features tab in Preferences. That titler is the parent of Titles and Text and gives you full control. Fair warning though...it's been deprecated because it's quite a challenge to learn to use. As such, it will not be further developed. It's not likely to be fully removed any time soon, but that could potentially happen to any deprecated feature. Good luck!

Thanks Gary. I use NewBlue FX Titler Pro 7 for my titling. Was hoping for something native within Vegas with a little more horsepower. Future Update perhaps?

gary-rebholz wrote on 1/5/2022, 8:58 AM

That's why I mentioned ProType Titler. It is native and has a ton more horsepower. It is the underlying power behind Titles and Text. It's just a challenge to learn. Future updates are always possible, but at this point I am not able to work that into the immediate plans. Sorry.

@gary-rebholz I hope it will never be removed, because I am sure that its cascade, animation curve, charactor parent-child level, curve path moving and so on features will not be able to be replaced by the other native Titlers in Vegas, in the next 10 or even 20 years.

Vegas removing these advanced features would be a very serious downgrade for itself.

3POINT wrote on 1/5/2022, 9:25 AM

@gary-rebholz Since Protype Titler is the parent of Title&Text, is it possible to create animated presets with Protype Titler (by advanced Protype users) that than can be further used/imported into Title&Text (like the already present animated presets)?

gary-rebholz wrote on 1/5/2022, 9:31 AM

@3POINT, Not currently. But it's a good suggestion.

@lan-mLMC, I do not plan to fully remove it.

iEmby wrote on 8/5/2022, 3:05 AM

yes please don't remove it fully ever @gary-rebholz, coz its the main reason VEGAS is strongly competing AFTER EFFECT's Lyrical Motion Graphics. Thankyou for that.

If titles and text made it possible to edit presets like protype titler can, I would use it.

Protype titler has one rather fundamental flaw. I think it doesn't have gpu support. Add a shadow under the subtitles and you have no performance with a 4-core processor. Animated presets are equally challenging. In titles and text, everything works much more smoothly and amazingly, but almost nothing can be changed. This makes this plugin paradoxically obsolete compared to the protype titler.

I understand that the team has completely different priorities. It's great to see more and more users discovering the power of the titler protype.

What's going on with Blufftitler's Vegas integration? Intuitive, simple with full gpu support. You don't want to tell the developers at Blufftitler.....Hey guys, do you want to make a plug-in plugin for Vegas from your software? Then no one will remember the Protype titler and Gary will be at peace with the subject.

@pierre-k, one of Vegas' weakness is the title software. I have a couple of consumer editors that do way more than what is available in Vegas.

Yes, maybe Vegas has bigger things to work on, but everyone uses titles. And to struggle with what is native to Vegas is disheartening, forcing you to look outside of Vegas for another plugin you have to spend money on, that you shouldn't.

And you are right about the performance of the title software in Vegas. I guess it comes from the lack of optimization of the current hardware.

I also agree that Blufftitler would be nice to be included in Vegas. It's fast and does a lot of "stuff", and has lots of addons if that's your thing. But I do have NBFX TP7 and BorisFX Title Studio.

Answer to my question from Blufftitler....

Hi Hanz,

Thank you for your mail

>Have you ever considered adding the option to make it a plug-in plugin for NLE Vegas, Premiere and others?

Yes, that would be a dream project! We would love to do that!

So I would see it as follows.....

Bluff Team: Hi guys. It is said that in Vegas you need a very stable fast titler.

Vegas Team: It is true. We will advise and help you with the reconstruction. Do you want?

Bluff Team. Clearly. By when should it be done?

Vegas Team: We are in no rush. Until the release of VP20.
