@pioneer109, I recommend you contact NewBlue support. It would probably be best if you do a full clean install.

I have VP21 and just did the TP7 update, it works fine. I loaded a recent animated logo video I created and it all worked as before the update.

Home built PC - Corsair case, ASUS ROG Maximus XI Code motherboard, i9 9900k, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz,  Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB graphics card, Corsair 1000 watt power supply. Windows 11.

VP 21 BCC 2024 Boris FX Continuum Complete, Titler Pro v7. Various NewBlue effects.

The update opens and renders much, much faster. The playback of older projects is a little odd as it loops weird portions of the title, but it scrubs clean and renders great. Plus, it now exports to .png sequences, which future-proofs us against the depreciation of .mov formats in Vegas.

It is a shame that the version of Titler Pro 7 included in TotalFX does not appear to be eligible for the (free) point upgrade

I updated TotalFX 7, any difference with playback or render isn't that noticeable on my PC but I am still disappointed it doesn't show/play the video when previewing the title on the TP7 timeline 😒

MikeS wrote on 9/12/2023, 5:35 AM

Interesting. No update shows as available for me for TotalFX 7, either on the New Blue account pages, nor on the New BlueFX app manager. What version of TotalFX shows in your App Manager? Mine reports 7.8.230213 (and was last updated back in November of last year, with nothing later showing on the New Blue website). Titler Pro itself reports the same version number

I do have a query out with New Blue support for further info

@MikeS Hi, sorry I don't update NB very often so this was prob an old update that I hadn't seen.

jetdv wrote on 9/12/2023, 7:22 AM

TotalFX 7 was not updated. That has been replaced with TotalFX 360 which was updated. If you have a standalone Titler Pro 7 Basic/Ultimate, that was updated. "Titler Pro for VEGAS" has not been updated at this time.

I installed the TP7 update in VP21 and found it to be a significant improvement with faster rendering times. An old project with multiple titles seemed to work fine. In the past the main weakness was integration into Vegas and using multiple titles was slow and often crashed.
For some time now I have only used TP7 to create animated title backgrounds rendered out as movies. I even made an animated third background which I then repeated and overlayed animated text made in VP21 Titles & Text!
Fingers crossed for this new update on the next project.

I contacted support and have several emails with them about how the later AMD drivers and TP7 would not work together. I was informed that they knew about this issue and was sent a beta of TotalFX 360 to see if that solved the problem. It did. I also asked about preview playback of the video, and that too, they were working on.

But, 360 that I was sent was a trial version which has expired. So, I am once again left with the same problems as before.... I can't use any of AMD's later drivers. TP7 would just stall when loading the Library and give me the 'white screen of death'.

MikeS wrote on 9/13/2023, 10:22 AM

Yeah, this is why I am disappointed. For a substantial period of time we have been told that the issues with TP7 were known, were being worked on and would be fixed - only for the fix to be released in a form I can't use. Or, at least, not without a substantial reinvestment.

Mike, contact NewBlue support. That's the way to let this be known. I can think of a couple solutions to the issue and will discuss them with NewBlue too.

jetdv wrote on 9/13/2023, 10:41 AM

My understanding is that there will be an upgrade option for "Titler Pro for VEGAS" users to upgrade to the the full version but I don't know the details yet.

TotalFX 7 users can upgrade to TotalFX 360 for $59.99

MikeS wrote on 9/13/2023, 11:12 AM

Mike, contact NewBlue support.

Yep, already did. Not had an answer from them as yet though (just an auto acknowledgement)

TotalFX 7 users can upgrade to TotalFX 360 for $59.99

Can't find this offer anywhere. Not in my NewBlue app manager, nor on the NewBlue website. Cheapest they are showing me is a special offer of $499 for TotalFX 360 Perpetual. Or $39.99 per month.

Aha, and now NewBlue support have literally just responded to my query about this with "we are working on an upgrade campaign for TotalFX 7 users to upgrade to Titler Pro 7 for $59.99" - so offer may not exist just yet, but will do soon, hopefully.

NewBlue just keeps on amusing me, hysterical.

Julius_ wrote on 9/13/2023, 10:16 PM

I found this latest version a lot better. In the previous version, I couldn't even use it...it would hang and crash within Vegas 21....the latest update doesn't crash anymore for me. Render is faster. The library templates are beginning to look a little chessy (somewhat out dated).

Former user wrote on 9/13/2023, 10:38 PM

@Julius_ Does the new version play the video on the TP timeline or does is still just go black except the title when you press play?

Here's the link:

https://newbluefx.com/tp7-upgrades-am/

That page has the lowest upgrade price at $99.99. There will be a separate mailing for TotalFX7 users with the upgrade offering of $59.99.

If you need the offering now, let me know and I can probably get a purchase link with the correct price.

The background video issue is still being worked on.
