"It would be AWESOME of CDA-5 would support hi-res files and then convert them on the fly as it does the burn (hint, hint SoFo!!!)."

From the news article:

"Support for up to 32-bit 192kHz source audio. Hi-Quality Re-sampling and Dithering on the fly of non- 16-bit/44.1kHz files."

There you go,
Nick

Cool. I guess I missed that point.
I stand corrected.

Hopefully the registered Vegas Video 3 people will get a great discount. I purchased VV3 for Disk At Once. I still use Samplitude for my mastering, however with the SEKD/EMAGIC/MAGIX mess, I don't think I will be upgrading.
I am using all my SoFo software more and more each week. This could make for a very stable, productive DAW system.

Rich

Ditto this, dudes...! on a massive scale..! whatwith acid 4 and soundforge 6, I thot VV3 would be a nice addition for "macro" productions...did not, repeat, did not get it for video...don't need anything for video...now if there's an option to go from vv3 to CDA 5, hey...!

I can second that -like a lot of people I only bought VV3 for the CDA capability.
(And also spent a fortune on CDR drives to find one that eventually worked - if only at 6-speed.) A cross-grade from VV3 to CDA would be useful - as well as a list before-hand of compatible and non-compatible drives (and at what speed).
Support for Yamaha's master-grade burning feature would be nice.
Oh, and could I have the moon and world-peace while I'm asking? - Thanks!

I crossed the moat into marketing yesterday, and they assured me that there will be a nice deal if you own CDA4 or VV3.

WHEN will it be available and WHERE do I download it...and HOW MUCH for CD4 owners?

Will this new CDArch5 be a plug-in for Sound Forge 5.0 or simply a stand alone program?

Is there a place where I can be added to an email notification when CDArch5 become avilable for download and purchase.

thanks
steph (Seoul South Korea)

Steph, I'm in South Korea too. Do you have a studio here?
I have one in Suwon. We do mostly voice work for EBS and such.
www.soundenglish.com

For email notification about CD-A 5, I was hit with a pop up window
asking me if I wanted just that when I came to the forums.
Plus, registered owners always get emails as long as you checked
the appropriate box during the registration process.
