New Editing System Suggestion

MikeLV wrote on 1/31/2025, 6:11 PM

I've been using my Intel Core i7-2600K system since 2013, later added a Radeon RX 590 GPU and it's served me well as I don't do any really complex effects in Vegas, but I need to start planning a new system as this one is outdated. What kind of hardware gets along well with Vegas these days? I can't afford the best, but I want to get something that will last a decent while. I will use pcpartpicker.com to get everything together and just buy the parts as I can. Thanks for any suggestions.

You can see my signature for two benchmarks where you can compare various hardware. (Feel free to benchmark your current system- I bet you'll be impressed with the upgrade!)

There really aren't any wrong choices.

My own PcPartsPicker build is also linked in my signature.

Thank you for the info.. I think if I benchmarked my current system, it would be the slowest on your spreadsheet!

But you would be able see what newer hardware will give you. Then comes the tough part, spending money. you've gotten a lot of mileage out of your current computer, and certainly your money's worth.

It's not a competition, it's a tool : )
