Intel has launched a new Quad-core processor, the QX6800. It is identical to the QX6700 except it runs at 2.93Ghz instead of 2.66Ghz. This negates the performance advantage in single threaded apps that the 2.93Ghz dual-core had over the QX6700 quad-core. Below is a link to a review where they used Vegas to benchmark the speed of the new chip.
