New Movie Studio 17 Platinum shuts down when try to up load media

I just purchased MS 17 Platinum upgrade to my existing MS 16. When I try to upload any media file(mp4), the program instantly stops and shuts down. A report form window pops up and I have sent 2 reports with no answer. I tried to un-install and re-install, but the same problem occurs every time I try to upload any media files. I am running windows 10 Home. version 1909. 64 bit. Please help as I really hope to use this upgrade. Do I need a better computer??
