New paid gig

This thread is above my head so I can't give any technical advice but if you get the gig maybe ask the client to put some color/warmth in the room (for the interior shots)...at least some wall hangings or something...that stark white just looks really cold to me.

Randy that's great advice actually. It's a new place, and it's ultra modern, so I think the look they're going for is the white washed, sanitarium look, but I totally agree, there's missing color.

I thought that went out in the early 90s but I guess "to each his own" : )

Liquid, thanks for starting the thread and showing off your work. That takes guts. I learned a number of new things. A few specific points:

1. If I were you, I would not hesitate to post satisfaction at having landed a paid gig. I would hesitate, however, to telegraph financial details to the public, including your client, especially about doing it for free.

2. Anecdote about manuals: this thread made me recall my days as a PhD student at a notoriously difficult science and engineering school in Cambridge. My advisor, now a Nobel laureate, was a busy person and constantly harangued us to read the manual (for software, for an instrument, etc.). To this day, I can't get that out of my head. So, I've been reading through the Vegas manual and discovered, much to my delight, for instance, that I can drop a layered PSD file onto a timeline, each layer having its own track. Would have helped me tremendously with a recent project (before I read the manual!).

3. Finally, congrats on the job!

$0.02,
Steve
