New Sony Codecs

With the new A7Siii announced yesterday, there's a couple of new codecs and variants making its debut:

Codecs: Sony implemented three new codecs on this camera. The jewel on the crown is XAVC S-I. This All-Intra H.264 codec will record in 24/25p with 240Mbps and in 50/60p in 600Mbps. XAVC HS uses the newer H.265 encoding but according to Sony, the previous is the better one.

Since Vegas used to be a Sony camp software, can I expect support for these codecs when it arrives on my door step in October?

Well I have already ordered. Hence my urgency to know if I can edit the source material. Even if there's no hardware support for decode or render, it still needs to be possible to edit that material, and not a crashathon. 10-bit 4K video is becoming 'the new normal' (apologies for the punt) for Creators, time for Vegas to move the foot forward.

You would know more, i'm sure having already ordered this camera, but It is only some slow motion modes that only work in HEVC (from memory) so you can record to either of the h.264 XAVC formats for the rest of the modes which can be edited if you have enough cpu

not a fan of S&Q as you loose audio. HFR should be fine though for what I need. And Intra checks OK so far.
