New wannabe user problem

Hello,

I'm trying to buy the Vegas 14 Platinum but the demo won't install. It flashes 'extracting' and just vanishes. I tried also the other demo, same thing. Found some registry tips and deleted any reg keys with Sony info, and no go. Run as admin, the same. There might have been some older demo or version of Vegas on this machine at some point and that might be the issue, but can't find any more reg keys to delete.

Wondering if I buy it will it still do the same? Kinda worried about buying it if the demo installation won't even start.

Running on W10 pro 64bit, i7 6700K, 32GB, M.2.

Any ideas welcome...

Does this mean you already used earlier versions of Movie Studio.

Hello, yes I have used some Magix products way back and some Sony video programs as well; I believe some version came with my Sony Camera even. BUT I got the installer to run...I started thinking what has changed lately, and realized I had removed my firewall program earlier, BUT it was still lingering there despite removal. It blocked the internet from suspicious programs by default, but since I had de-installed the GUI it didn't report anything. Made sure all the firewall parts were removed, rebooted and now it seems to be working just fine!!!

Can't say for sure I went thru those as well but might have been my old firewall that blocked it from net access as well, or both. Nevertheless the demo worked great and already bought the full version as well!
